EU to possibly ban Olympic Opening Ceremony

Olympic boycott justified if violence continues: EU
NDTV Correspondent
Sunday, March 23, 2008 (New Delhi)
The President of the European Parliament is reported to have said that European countries should not rule out threatening China with an Olympic boycott if violence continues in Tibet.

According to the president of the European Parliament, ''If there continue to be no signals of compromise, I see boycott measures as justified.''

However, last week, before the European President's comments, the European Olympic committee met and said it was against any boycott.

Meanwhile, the standoff between Tibetan protesters and the Chinese government continues with Beijing now accusing the Dalai Lama of plotting terror in Tibet and holding the Olympic games hostage.

On his part, Dalai Lama says this is a matter of one billion Chinese people so as a matter of respect, we are not opposing Beining Olympics.

My petition to ban the Beijing Olympics.

I'm having a really hard time with the world right now. There are so many things I'd like to do. And I'm going to start doing them. But that might mean putting a hold on what I want to do with the Peace Corps.

I can't wait for summer. I'm going to be very very active.

Ralph Nader is running for President again this time. I'm going to vote, which I didn't think I was going to do this year, seeing as it's Hilary, Obama and McCain, and I don't support any of them. At least I can have Nader and his anti-corpation stance.

Who are you all voting for and why?
